C. Stinson On August Sixth Had Lived In Winn Parish Most of His Life Samuel Cecil Stinson, age 76, died Saturday night, August 5, at the home of his daughter in Houston, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday and his body was sent to Gansville where a service was conducted by Rev. J. W. Buckner, pastor of the Jonesboro Baptist Church, and Rev. Shows of Calvin. Interment was made in the Gansville Cemetery. Mr. Stinson had lived most of his life in Gansville, Winnfield, and Calvin, but for the past two years had made his home with is daughter, Mrs. C. D. Allen of Houston, Texas. He is survived by four sons, M. H. Stinson, Melville, La., George Stinson, Washington, D. C., O. T. Stinson, Oklahoma, and Samuel Cecil Stinson, Jr., of Houston, Texas; six daughters, Mrs. Margaret Mae Allen, Mrs. Josephine Burger, Mrs. Annie Laura Torlton, and Miss Kathleen Stinson of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Lucille Rush of San Antonio, Texas and Mrs. Rosalie Borach of San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Alex T. Stinson, Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. J. D. Puckitt, Jonesboro, and Mrs. James Miller, Dodson. There are nine surviving grandchildren. Active pallbearers at the service were Clarence Chandler, Calvin; H. W. Stinson, Winnfield; Lige Moffett, Jonesboro; J. P. Lewis, Jonesboro; Marbury Smelley, Jonesboro; and G. H. Walker, Atlanta.
