Dr. Calvin Phelps of Winnfield's First Baptist Church officiated, sith assistance of James F. Bennett. Kermit M. "Mickey" Simmons gave a eulogy as a touching tribute to his aunt. Mrs. Stovall, 88, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 11, 1991, at the Winnfield nursing home, Parkview Guest Care Center. The Winn Parish native was born January 20, 1903, second child of Alfred Lee and Ida Wasson Mixon. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dodson, a retired employee of the La. Dept. of Human Resources, a member of the Spicer- Wallace Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, and Palestine Chapter 151, Order of Eastern Star. Mrs. Stovall served for 12 years as Mayor of Dodson. Mrs. Stovall was preceded in death by her four children, Julius Jack and Elizabeth Ann Waters died as children, and Dale Waters Gaharan and Gay Waters Payne. Survivors include one brother, Dan Mixon of Kingston, N. C.; one sister, Mary Ruth Keckler of Lake Charles; six grandchildren an 12 great grandchildren; also a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers were nephews Mickey Simmons, Mike Simmons, and Ed Crawford, and grandsons Charles Gaharan, Dee Gaharan, and Steve Gaharan.
