M. Stovall John M. Stovall, Sr., 61, of Carthage, died Saturday morning at his residence following a sudden illness. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Methodist Church in Carthage with the Rev. Marshall McQueen officiating. Burial was in the Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport under direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Stovall of Carthage; four sons, Dr. John M. Stovall, Jr. of Crockett, Robert D. Stovall of Oklahoma City, Okla., William G. Stovall of Germany, and Perry J. Stovall of Clarksville; five sisters, Velda Prince of Carthage, Sarah Fouts, Evelyn Finuf, Carlotta Ferguson, and Maurine McCarty, all of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, D. M. Stovall, Jr., of Carthage and Rev. James L. Stovall of Baton Rouge; and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Stovall was a native of Sikes, La. He was a retired automobile dealer, a veteran of World War II, a Mason, a member of the Rotary Club, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage.
