Stovall, age 52 years, eight months and six days of age, former business man of Dodson, died suddenly from a heart attack early Monday night at Alexandria, where he went to attend to business. He was an employee of the state department of revenue. His sudden demise was a shock to friends throughout this section, although his health had been impaired for some time. He was a member of a prominent Winn Parish family and of the Dodson Methodist Church, and was also a member of the famous undefeated football team of LSU in 1908. Mr. Stovall is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Della Fisher, of Winnfield; and the following children: R. F. Jr., Wilson, Richard, Beverly Lynn, Miss Della Lee Stovall, all of Dodson, and Mrs. Arthur Tucker of Farmerville. He also leaves seven brothers and three sisters: B. M. Stovall, L. J. Stovall, and R. L. Stovall, all of Dodson; W. L. Stovall of Corsicana, Texas; John C. Stovall of Mohanna, Texas; Dr. S. D. Stovall of Peat Luma, California; and Dr. H. F. Stovall of Jonesboro; Mrs. J. F. Faith of Winnfield; Mrs. E. D. Boone of Leesville; and Mrs. M. D. Nicholson of Natchitoches. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at Transport Cemetery, with Rev. D. D. Boddie of Gibsland, a former pastor of the Dodson Methodist Church, and the Rev. A. W. Townsend, pastor of the Hodge Methodist Church, officiating.
