Mrs. S. Stroud, Montgomery Native, Dies

Funeral services for Mrs. Samantha Stroud, 87, of St. Maurice and a resident
of Bastrop, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Maurice Methodist Church.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Stroud died Tuesday, August 31, 1976 at Cherry Ridge Nursing Home at
Bastrop after lengthy illness.

A native of Montgomery, Mrs. Stroud had lived most of her life in Winn Parish.

Survivors include one son, Charley Edwards, of Harleton, Tex.; one brother,
Joe Calhoun of Colfax; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two
great great grandchildren.
