Stroud, life long resident of Winn Parish, died at his home near Atlanta Sunday morning, February 1, 1948, after a short illness. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tillman Brown, pastor of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, where Mr. Stroud was a member for a long time. Recently he moved his membership to the Atlanta Methodist Church. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were Everett and Bobby Graff, Alvin Rachal of Denton, Texas, Ardis and Elmer Stroud of Atlanta, all grandsons of the deceased. Surviving are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Love of Atlanta and Mrs. Ruby Rachal of Denton, Texas; five sons, Eddie Stroud, Little Rock, Ark.; James Stroud, Barksdale Field; Ellis and Carlton Stroud, Atlanta; Emanuel Stroud, Pineville; a sister, Mrs. Horne of Montgomery; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
