Oldest Member of Mars Hill Church To Be Buried Fri.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rhoda Stroud, 94, who passed away at her home in
Verda at 7 a.m. Thursday, will be held some time Friday at the Mars Hill
Church, Winn Parish.  Mrs. Stroud was the oldest living charter member of the
church.  Burial will be in Mars Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hixson
Brothers.

The deceased was the grandmother of Mrs. Lionel Boone of Winnfield.  She was
born near Coochie Brake, Winn Parish, but moved to Grant Parish when nine
years old.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Cleve Donaldson, Scott
Stroud, Mrs. Bill Gentry and Mrs. W. C. Cockfield, all of Verda; Wade Stroud
of Alexandria; and Mrs. W. C. Lewis of Freeport, Texas.
