Strain Funeral Services Are Held From E. C. Eyer Residence Mrs. Nettie Eckart Strain, age 67 years, died at the home of her son, E. C. Eyer, in Winnfield, 9:30 p.m. Monday, September 4, 1939, after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the family residence Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. Father Marsh of the Hodge Catholic Church officiating. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Hilton Gorham, L. F. Morrison, W. M. Morris, Prince Gilcrease, J. F. Walker, and R. H. Smith. Mrs. Eyer was born in Clinton, La., January 12, 1872. She was first married to Mr. Jules Eyer and to this union were born two sons, who survive. Her second marriage was to Mr. D. A. Strain. The moved to Winnfield about 30 years ago, Mr. Strain being a paper and painter contractor. He preceded his wife in death by six years. Surviving are the two sons, E. C. and E. J. Eyer of Winnfield; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Ewing, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Otto Breitung and Mrs. Joe Breithun, Clinton; one brother, Victor Eckart; and her mother, Mrs. Lena Eckart, 94 years old, of Clinton, La. Three grandchildren also survive.
