Stroud, 84, Buried Sun. at Hurricane Grove Mrs. Viola F. Stroud, 84, Sikes, La., died Saturday, August 12, 1967, in a Winnfield nursing home after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Hurricane Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Yocum, Rev. Curry officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. She was a native of Dodson. Survivors are two sons, H. W. Stroud of Winnfield and G. H. Stroud of Sikes; three daughters, Mrs. Irene Fitzgerald and Mrs. Velma Thompson of Sikes, and Mrs. Elizabeth Oliphant of Winnfield; a brother, Lawrence Fox of Alexandria; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Smith of Winnfield, Mrs. Lena Adams, Mrs. Arrie Price, and Mrs. Ethel Pepper of Dodson; 13 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were John Stroud, Cleve Stroud, George Stroud, George Fitzgerald, Norris Curry, and Duke Richardson.
