Stewart, 76, of Dodson, who died early Monday in a Winnfield hospital, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 1955, at the New Hope Methodist Church, with the Rev. Virgil Taylor officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Buchanan and Rev. Phillips. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Acting as pallbearers were J. L. Mathews, Woodson Goolsby, Enos Murphy, Billie Johnson, Fred Roark, and Carthal Payne. The deceased, a native of Winn Parish, was the former Miss Bertha Peppers. She is survived by two sons, Preston and Ellis Stewart of Dodson; three daughters, Mrs. P. M. Brewer, Dodson, Mrs. Henry King, West Monroe, and Mrs. Bill Evans, Atlanta; one brother, two sisters, 13 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
