All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: December 30, 1948 Winn Parish Enterprise Last Rites Dec. 26 For Mrs. Mamie Sullivan of Sikes Funeral services for Mrs. Mamie Sullivan, 65, of near Sikes, were held at the Sharon Baptist Church near Sikes at the Sharon Baptist Church near Sikes at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 26, with the Rev. W. C. Bounds, Rev. Clyde Parker, Rev. C. M. Robinson and Rev. Joe Buckins officiating. Interment was in the Thompson Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. After an illness of six months, during which time she spent three and one-half months in bed, Mrs. Sullivan departed this life at a local clinic at 10:15 p.m. December 25. Mrs. Sullivan had been a member of the Sharon Baptist Church for 37 years. As long as her health permitted she had taken an active part in church work and all who knew her thought of her as a true Christian. She is survived by her husband, John M. Sullivan; six children, Mrs. Hardie Thompson of Winnfield, Buddy Sullivan of Sicily Island, Hershel, Winfred, Rosa and Louise Sullivan, all of Sikes; one step son, Norris Sullivan of Bastrop; twelve grandchildren; one brother, Joe Cubit of Crowville; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Welch and Mrs. Siney Welch, both of Crowville. Also surviving are a host of other relatives and friends.
