Swanson, 69, of 2704 Navaho Trail, died at 12:40 p.m. in Alexandria Tuesday, June 26, 1973 in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. He was one of the founders of the American Supply Co., organized in 1946, and was chairman of the board at the time of his death. Born in Dodson, he was graduated from Dodson High School and Louisiana Polytechnic University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alexandria, the Alexandria Lions Club, Jonesboro Masonic Lodge No. ____, F. & A. M., El Karubah Shrine Temple, and the Greater Alexandria-Pineville Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Nichols Swanson of Alexandria; a son, Johnny Mack Swanson of Alexandria; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Christensen of Euless, Texas; and four grandsons. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Bentley Sloane officiating. Entombment was in Alexandria Memorial Gardens mausoleum.
