O. Schwartz To Be At 8:30 A.M. Friday Funeral services for H. O. Schwartz, 59, who died in a local hospital at 9 p.m. Wednesday, after a long illness, will be held at the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, Friday at 8:30 a.m., with the pastor, Rev. W. L. Holcomb, officiating. The remains will then be carried to Kentwood, La., for burial. Recognized as an outstanding worker in the field of education, Mr. Schwartz came to Winnfield in 1932 as principal of the Winnfield High School. In 1935, he became supervisor of the Parish school system and served in this capacity until April, 1954, when he was appointed superintendent to serve while R. L. Terry was in the armed forces. Thirteen months later he returned to his post as supervisor where he served until his death. He also held the title as assistant superintendent of schools. He was active in the State Teachers Association and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow of Winnfield; one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Morgan of Amite, La.; one brother, George, of Kentwood; two sisters, Mrs. E. Wallace of Kentwood and Mrs. T. Anderson of Arkansas.
