Swope Killed By Train Near Georgetown Andrew Miller Swope, aged 82 years, was killed on the L. & A. railroad tracks between Georgetown and Winnfield last Sunday morning, March 18th, between 11 and 12 o'clock. Mr. Swope made his home with his son, L. C. Swope, at Georgetown, and it is stated that some time on Saturday the old gentleman wandered away from home and could not be located. Efforts were made to find him but to no avail, and on Sunday morning the engineer of the L. & A. train saw an object lying on the track and before he could bring his train to a stop the wheels had crushed the body. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Mr. L. C. Swope in Georgetown, being conducted by the Methodist minister from Rochelle, La. Interment was made in Grenwood Memorial Park, at Pineville.
