>From the July 24, 1885 Southern Sentinel, Winnfield, LA.:

There will be a Masonic procession held over Mr. J. R. Sykes (Sikes)
deceased, on Sunday July 19, by Brooklyn (Brookline) Lodge.  Eastern
Star Lodge No. 151 is invited to participate.  The procession will be
held at Old Fellowship church, in Winn Parish, abouit 5 miles from Gaars
Mill.

(Brookline Lodge No. 198 Free and Accepted Masons, was organized near
Hood's Mill, Jackson Parish, LA., in 1869 and chartered Feb. 16, 1870.
This Lodge was not far from the Winn Parish line.)
