Wayne Stovall Fatally Stricken While In Church

Wayne Stovall, prominent Jonesboro attorney, was fatally stricken by a heart
attack while attending church services in Jonesboro last Sunday morning.  He
was 54.

Mr. Stovall dropped dead while services were in progress.

A native of Dodson, Winn Parish, Mr. Stovall had practiced law in Jonesboro
for 28 years.  He was assistant district attorney for six years and was a
graduate of the Tulane University Law School.

Mr. Stovall had been in ill health for several years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Jonesboro Methodist 
Church with the Rev. G. W. Dameron officiating.  Burial followed in the 
Jonesboro Cemetery.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ida Stovall, Jonesboro; one daughter, Mrs.
Ray J. Hill, San Marcus, Tex.; one brother, Hugh Walker Stovall, Dodson, and
numerous relatives in Winn Parish.
