W. Taylor, Sr., Retired T & G Engineer, Dies Jimmie Wainwright Taylor, Sr., 72, died Sunday at 1:55 a.m. in a Winnfield hospital after a long illness. Taylor was a retired locomotive engineer for the Tremont & Gulf Railway Co. He was a native of Waldo, Ark. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Union Baptist Church with Rev. Willie James officiating, assisted by Rev. W. A. Wimbs and Rev. J. H. Holt. Burial was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Taylor of Joyce; two sons, Jimmie W. Taylor, Jr. of Shreveport and Dan H. Taylor of Joyce; two daughters, Mrs. Floy Bartholomew of Joyce and Mrs. Jessie Russell of San Marcos, Calif.; a half brother, Fred Glover of Coushatta; a half sister, Mrs. Carl Shepard of Joyce, and eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ed Gassiott, Andrew Jenkins, Louis Jenkins, Charley Bright, Walter Maxwell, and P. H. Cole.
