Sikes Native Succumbs In West Monroe

Mrs. Mary D. Thompson, 88, of Rt. 3, West Monroe, died Thursday night,
December 23, 1971 in Riverside Nursing Home in Monroe after a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Sikes Baptist Church
with Rev. Lavelle Crain officiating.

Burial was in Sikes Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was a native of Sikes and had been a resident of West Monroe for
the past 25 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. G. L. Stennett and Mrs. Ona Gregory,
both of West Monroe, and Mrs. Annabell Wactor of Slidell; two sons, R. M.
Crain and J. L. Crain, both of West Monroe; several stepchildren; two
brothers, J. J. Parker and Ross Parker, both of Sikes; three sisters, Mrs.
Nancy Crain, Mrs. Maude Beavers and Mrs. Maggie Smith, all of Sikes; several
grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
