L. Tanner, 74, died at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday at his home in Joyce following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at East Winnfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Wall and the Rev. Clyde Harper officiating. Burial was in the old Corinth Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Tanner was a native of Lincoln Parish and a retired oilfield worker. He was a member of East Winnfield Baptist Church and an active member of the board of deacons of the church. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Capt. Fred L. Tanner of New Orleans, Darrell P. Tanner of Shreveport, and Walter C. Tanner of Natchitoches; three daughters, Mrs. Arminda Adams of Tomball, Texas, Mrs. W. C. Mixon of Baytown, Texas, and Mrs. Ruth Armstrong of Gibsland; one brother, George Tanner of Calhoun; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Frost of Calhoun and Mrs. Della Culpepper of Clay; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
