O. Tatum Friday, Aug. 19 Last rites for Mrs. Narcissus Tatum, 89, who died at the home of her son in law, R. O. Mills, Winnfield, Thursday, Aug. 18, after a long illness, were held Friday, 3 p.m., at the residence of her granddaughter, Mrs. Houston Gates, Rev. Alwin Stokes officiated. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery, with the following acting as pallbearers: John McCloy, E. L. McGuffee, U. L Harper, Reggie Gates, G. P. Long, and Jack Jones. Born October 8, 1860, New London, Ark., Mrs. Tatum lived most of her life in Union County, Ark. She moved to Winnfield in 1918, making her home with her son in law, R. O. Mills. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving, besides her son in law, are four grandchildren, Mrs. Houston Gates, Winnfield; E. A. Headrick, Alexandria; Murray Hudson, Litroe, La.; and Mrs. O. W. Tucker, Springhill. She also leaves five great grandchildren. Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Headrick and son, Alexandria; Mrs. Walter Hudson and Mrs. Ed Williams, Strong, Ark.; Judge Frank Hudson, Mrs. Virgil Baker, El Dorado, Ark.; Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Tucker, Springhill; Murray Hudson and Mrs. Perry Hudson, Litroe, La.
