All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** >From the August 26, 1949 Winnfield News-American Funeral Services For Mrs. Tatum Were Held Friday Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Houston Gates for Mrs. Narcissus Tatum, 79, who died at the home of her son in law, R. O. Mills, at 1403 Maple at 11:15 a.m. on August 18. Rev. Alwin Stokes conducted the funeral. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were John McCloy, Reggie Gates, U. L. Harper, Jack Jones, G. P. Long, and E. L. McGuffee. The deceased was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield. She was born in New London, Ark., October 8, 1869, and spent most of her life in Union County, Ark. She had been making her home with her son in law, R. O. Mills, for a number of years. Survivors were four grandchildren: Mrs. Houston Gates, E. A. Headrick of Alexandria; Mrs. O. W. Tucker, Springhill; and Murray Hudson, Litroe. Six children preceded her death.
