Miss Taunton, 88, Dies; Burial Held At Mt. Zion

Miss Mattie Agnes Taunton, 88, of Montgomery, died at 7:50 a.m. Monday, May 2,
1977 in St. Frances Cabrini Hospital at Alexandria after a short lengthy
illness.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Montgomery methodist Church
with the Rev. Dorothy McGowen officiating.

Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home
of Winnfield.

A native of Union Parish, Miss Taunton was a member of the Montgomery
Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Loualice Nunnally of Montgomery and Mrs.
Gordie Harrell of Jackson, Miss., a number of nieces and nephews.
