Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Hudson Nazarene Church with the Rev. Calvin M. Robinson, Rev. R. L. Daily, and Rev. Virgil Taylor officiating. Interment was in the New Hope Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mrs. Taylor, a member of a pioneer Winn Parish family, was the daughter of the late C. C. "Lum" Allen and Clarissa Boyett Allen. She had resided in the same community most of her 61 years. Although her illness was serious and of lengthy duration, the courage, patience, and humor which she displayed will long be remembered by those who cared for her. Examples of her pine needle handicraft, in the possession of friends and relatives, remain to show her love and skill in using the native pine needles. She was a very busy person until her illness became too critical for activity. Surviving are her husband, George W. Taylor; a daughter, Mrs. Violet Glenn of Monroe; a granddaughter, Sandra Gail Glenn; two sisters, Mrs. W. L. Smith of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs. Frank M. Cox of Rodessa, La.; three brothers, M. M. Allen, I. L. Allen, and C. W. Allen of Rt. 2 Winnfield. A daughter, Opaline, preceded her in death a number of years ago. Her nephews served as pallbearers. They were Max Allen, Dewey Allen, C. W. Allen, Armand Taylor, Olan Coates, and Elverson Coates.
