L. Taylor died in Vinton, La., on Oct. 15, 1937 at 10:55 p.m. while on duty as conductor on one of the Southern Pacific branch lines. Death was caused by heart failure. Mr. Taylor spent his boyhood days in Atlanta and at a very early age went to work with local railroads. He was located in Lafayette at the time of his death. Funeral services were held at the Delhomme funeral parlor in Lafayette at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 27. Interment was in the St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro, La. He is survived by his wife and four children, Mrs. Charles A. Ray, Lafayette, Mr. Thomas "Buddy" Taylor, Barksdale, Mrs. Selby Lockhart, Baton Rouge, and M Mr. Reynal Taylor, Lafayette, also one brother, Mr. R. C. Taylor and four sisters, Mrs. Charley James, Mrs. Floyd Hanson, and Misses Pauline and Marcelle Taylor, all of Atlanta.
