James H. Taylor, 98, Montgomery, Buried At Mt. Zion

Funeral services for James Harbard Taylor, 97 years, 9 months, and 1 day of
age, of Montgomery, who died at his home in Montgomery, Thursday night, August
3, 1961, after a long illness, were held Saturday, August 4, at 11 a.m., at
the Mt. Zion Methodist Church, located between Atlanta and Montgomery.  Burial
was in the church cemetery.

Officiating were Rev. Floyd Styers, pastor of the Pearl River Nazarene Church,
and Rev. Robert Duron of the Assembly of God Church of Shreveport.  Mrs.
Robert Duron had charge of the music.

Mr. Taylor was a native of Davilla, Texas, and had been a resident of
Montgomery for the past 25 years.  He was a retired farmer and a member of the
Wheeling Church of Nazarene.

He is survived by five sons, B. E. and G. A. Taylor of Houston; Rev. W. D.
Taylor of Oakwood, Texas; Rev. W. C. Taylor of Sikes; John Taylor of 
Montgomery; four daughters, Mrs. Frank Garrage of Lansing, Mich., Mrs.
Effie Westbrook, Mrs. A. H. Vogle, both of Shreveport, and mrs. W. H. Basye of
Montgomery; one half brother, Gus Taylor of Monroe; 41 grandchildren and 62
great grandchildren.
