Taylor, Joyce Resident, Succumbs July 8 Wiley E. Taylor, 71, of Joyce, died in a local hospital at 11 a.m. July 8 after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Caldwell Parish, but had been a resident of Winn Parish for 25 years. He was a retired employee of Tremont Lumber Company and was a member of the Non-Denominational Church. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at the Southern Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Albert Sexton officiating. Burial was in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ed Gassiott, Roy Dunn, W. P. Shows, W. C. Grice, L. W. Price, and R. D. Skains. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Carrie Taylor, Joyce; two sons, Owen Taylor, Odessa, Texas and Donald Taylor, Chino, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. James Skains, of Joyce, and Mrs. Virgie Dunn of DeRidder; eight grandchildren. He also leaves two brothers, Louis Taylor, Olla, and Johnny Taylor, Clarks; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Young, Winnsboro, and Mrs. Jack McDonald of Kelly, a host of nieces and nephews.
