All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: September 6, 1945 Winn Parish Enterprise News-American Roy Taylor, 41, Electrocuted At Camden Plant Funeral Services At First Baptist Church Sunday, 3 p.m. Roy Taylor, 41, of Winnfield, was killed instantly about 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 31, at the Naval Ordnance plant at Camden, Ark., when the crane of the road machine he was operating struck a live wire. Another man, on the road machine, was also electrocuted. The body was brought to Mr. Taylor's home in Winnfield Friday night and funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Alwin Stokes and Rev. H. B. Hysell officiated. Interment followed in the Winnfield Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Brothers. Acting as pallbearers were Douglas Durrett, Duffy Hoffman, John Emerson, Joe Fallen, Houston Gates, Hasson Morris, Willie Gaar, and Jack Fallen. Born in Dodson, Mr. Taylor had lived in Winnfield for about 20 years. He had been employed at the Camden Ordnance plant for the past several months. His wife, the former Helen Miller of Atlanta, is employed in Baton Rouge. Besides his wife, Mr. Taylor is survived by five brothers and six sisters as follows: C. C. Taylor, Alexandria; Fred L. Taylor, Minden; Archie Taylor, Shreveport; Clyde Taylor, Ruston; Andrew Taylor, Dodson; Mrs. Daisy Fallen and Ms. Minnie Low Land, Ruston; Mrs. Eva Temple, Dodson; Mrs. Minnie Baggett, Shreveport; Mrs. Ethel Scott and Mrs. Vero Varble, San Diego, Calif.
