J. Taylor Dies Wednesday 11 AM At His Home Here Established First Barber Shop in Winnfield About 1905 S. J. Taylor, age 70, died at his home here Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock following an illness of several years. Funeral services were held on Thursday morning at ten o'clock at the family residence conducted by the Rev. Alwin Stokes, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, assisted by the Rev. G. A. Morgan, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Mr. Taylor came to Winnfield in 1905 and established the first barber shop, and it was a source of great pride to him that he had given many of the town's youth their first shave. In 1907 he married Miss Edna McDade, who with their three sons, Morris Taylor, of Perry, Florida, Clyde and Othel Taylor of Winnfield, survive him. Other surviving relatives are two sisters, Misses Laura and Stella Taylor of Greenville, Miss. He is a member of the Woodmen of the World fraternal order.
