Teagle Dies At His Home Thursday J. G. Teagle, 88 years and 24 days old, died at the family residence at 6:35 p.m. Thursday, March 8, 1928. Mr. Teagle was born in Hardin County, Tenn., near old Shiloh Church, later known as Shiloh Battle Ground. He came to Winn Parish at the age of 15 years. He was a Confederate soldier, serving the entire four years in the Civil War under the command of Gen. Joseph E. Johnson, and receiving his discharge at Greensboro, N. C., April, 1865. Aug. 10, 1865, he married Martha Ann Bolton, a resident of Winn Parish. To this union were born ten children, six of whom survive their parents. Mr. Teagle joined the church in August, 1877 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, at the time of his death. Those surviving him are: children, Dr. O. C. Teagle, Campti; J. O. Teagle, Calvin; J. M. Teagle, Misses Katie and Helen Teagle and Mrs. W. R. Horton, all of Winnfield; two nephews, Ben Teddlie, Jonesboro, and Willis Teddlie, Verda. Interment was in the Teagle Cemetery, five miles west of Winnfield, at 3:00 p.m. Friday, Rev. A. H. Cullen, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Winnfield, held the services at the cemetery. The out-of-town relatives and friends attending the funeral of Mr. Teagle Friday were: Dr. O. C. Teagle and family, Campti; Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Teagle, Calvin; Mrs. W. N. Teagle of St. Maurice; Mrs. Jake Leiber, Natchitoches; Miss Irene Jackson and Otis Jackson, Viena; Miss Ella Lee Drummond, Calvin; and Ben Teddlie, Jonesboro.
