And Mrs. C. E. Teagle Die Jan. 30 Former Winn Couple Killed In Accident A former Winn Parish couple were fatally injured in a headon collision, Thursday, January 30, at Glenmora. Dead are Rev. and Mrs. Clarence E. Teagle. They lived in Oakdale. Both are formerly of Verda and had lived at Sikes between 1950 and 1960. Mrs. Teagle was the former Wilie Mae Taylor, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. W. C. Taylor, of Sikes, who now live in Bentley. The accident happened at 6:15 a.m. while the Teagles were headed north on U. S. 165 in Glenmora, about 12 miles north of their home. Mrs. Teagle, 41, died instantly and her 45 year old husband died at Baptist Hospital in Alexandria at 9:30 a.m. One woman was in the other car. She was identified as Mrs. Janet Johnson. She was enroute to work at a papermill in Elizabeth nine miles west of Oakdale. Teagle was pastor of the Assembly of God Church in Oakdale. A graduate of Southwest Bible Institute (Assemblies of God college in Waxahachie, Texas), he had pastored churches in Winn Parish. For the past six years he had been employed as a state probation officer. The Teagles are survived by a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Vines, and two grandchildren of Springhill. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Teagle is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nellie Glynn Jones, Bentley; a brother, W. J. Taylor, Cullen. Rev. Teagle is survived by two brothers, Ollie Teagle of Shreveport and Berry Teagle of Ruston; two sisters, Ollie Lang, Rayville, and Mrs. Vesta Remont of Cutoff. Funeral services were held in Oakdale with burial in the Mauries Cemetery near Verda.
