Monroe Teagle, 54, a member of a prominent family here, died suddenly in the yard at his home at 10 a.m. Tuesday as he was returning from an inspection of a house he was having built across the street from his residence. Mr. Teagle was a lifelong resident of Winn Parish. At the age of 14 years he suffered a stroke of infantile paralysis which left one arm partially paralyzed. He took a great interest in all business of the parish and was a familiar figure around the courthouse. Funeral services were held at the family residence at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. B. C. Land and Rev. G. A. Morgan officiating. Interment was in the Teagle Cemetery several miles west of town. Surviving are two brothers, Dr. O. C. Teagle of Campti, La.; J. O. Teagle of Winnfield; and three sisters, Mrs. W. R. Horton, Misses Kate and Helen Teagle, all of Winnfield.
