All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: June 7, 1934 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral Services Held For Mr. Ace Teddlie Sunday Deceased Was First White Child Born In Winnfield Mr. Ace Teddlie, aged 83, who died at his residence at Hargis June 2, and who was the first white child to be born in the town of Winnfield, was buried June 3rd at Mars Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Chelette officiating. Mr. Teddlie, who on account of his advanced age, has been in precarious health for some years died not unexpectedly at his residence at Hargis where he had been living for more than thirty years. He was born in Winnfield on August 9, 1850, a member of the Baptist faith, having joined the faith at the Old Jerusalem Church at an early age. At twenty-one years of age he married Miss Alice Jackson, who survives him. The deceased is survived by, besides his widow, the following children: Mr. M. E. Teddlie of Hargis, Mrs. Claude Worsham of Montgomery, Mrs. Hattie Drewett of Montgomery, Mrs. Laura Martin of Calvin, Mrs. Minnie Bice of Calvin and Missess Ada and Addie Teddlie of Montgomery. Three children preceded him in death. In addition to his children he is survived by two brothers, W. P. Teddlie of Atlanta, Route 2, and B. F. Teddlie of Jonesboro and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
