Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Teddlie, 95, who died at her home in the Hargis community December 24, 1947, were conducted at the Mars Hill Church at 2 p.m. December 25, with the Rev. L. C. Crain of Grayson officiating. Interment was in the Mars Hill cemetery under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home. Born in Jackson Parish Feb. 16, 1852, she was married to Ace Teddlie January 26, 1871, and lived in Winn Parish until 1903, when she moved to the Hargis community, Grant Parish, where she lived until her death. She was the mother of ten children and a member of the Mars Hill Baptist Church. Injuries, sustained in a fall, confined her to her bed for six years before her death. Surviving are six daughters and one son, Mrs. D. P. Martin of Winnfield; Mrs. W. J. Bice, Calvin; Mrs. C. E. Worsham, Mrs. Hettie Drewett, Misses Ada and Addie Teddlie and Monroe Teddlie of Route 1, Montgomery. She also leaves21 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren. Active pallbearers, grandsons of the deceased, were: Herman Worsham, Arnold Bice, Ardian Teddlie, Oswald Teddlie, Thurman Drewett, and Lester Teddlie.
