All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: June 22, 1944 Winn Parish Enterprise Funeral of Harold Teegarden Held Wednesday Funeral services for Harold Vernon Teegarden, 47, who succumbed at the Veterans Hospital, Alexandria, Monday, June 19, were held at the home of his mother, Mrs. Ora Teegarden, Winnfield, Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Alwin Stokes, Presbyterian minister, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Acting as pallbearers were Harper Terrill, J. B. Stothart, Mayor Earl Applewhite, Jim Carter, Melton McQuiddy, and E. L. McGuffey. Mr. Teegarden was born in Jerome, Iowa, and moved to Winnfield when 10 years of age. At the declaration of World War One he was a member of the National Guard, stationed in New Orleans. He served three years in the Army, one of which was overseas with a supply train of the 156th Division. The deceased was the son of Mrs. Ora Teegarden and the late W. S. Teegarden. Surviving besides his mother are two sisters, Mrs. T. E. Morisette of Mobile, Ala., and Mrs. Elbert Carroll, Winnfield; and two brothers, Charlton, U. S. Navy, Camp Wallace, Texas, and Bill of Winnfield.
