Temple Funeral services for Mrs. Lela Davis Temple, 92, of Shreveport, were held Saturday, January 8, 1983 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Dodson, Louisiana. Rev. Ray Praeger, Baptist Hospital Chaplain and Mrs. Temple's former pastor at Dodson officiated. Burial followed at Ebenezer Baptist Church near Jonesboro, Louisiana. Arrangements were under direction of Edmonds Funeral Home of Jonesboro. She died Friday, January 7, 1983 at 5:30 a.m. in Doctors' Hospital, in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. She was a resident of Nurse Care of Shreveport Nursing Home. Mrs. Temple, a native of Jackson Parish, was a former resident of Dodson, area for 58 years; member of Dodson Baptist Church, and had lived in Shreveport since 1968. She is survived by two daughters, Roxie Temple Parker of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Laura Temple of Shreveport; one son, Judson E. Temple of Wisner, Louisiana, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Murphy Barr, Paul Gaar, Clayton Norred, Wayne Taylor, Russell Terry, and Harley Womack.
