Sheriff Sanford Jordan said the victim was Jessie Dean Temple, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Temple of Ward 4. She was visiting her sister, Mrs. Silas Rowell, Jr., in Ward 10 when the accident occurred, the sheriff explained. A four year old boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. ________________, had taken a .22 caliber pistol from a cabinet and the gun fired while the youngsters were inside the house, the sheriff added. The Rowells and _________ occupy the same house. Jordan said according to the coroner's report, the girl was struck in the heart and died almost instantly. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Siloam Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis Moffett and Rev. R. D. Kitchingham officiating. Burial will be in the cemetery at Gansville. The body will be at Southern Funeral Home in Winnfield until services. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Harold and Carl B. Temple; four sisters, Mrs. Silas Rowell, Linda Dale, Vela Azell, and Willie Venita Temple, all of Dodson; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Temple of Dodson and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. M. B. Whatley of Hackberry.
