Davies Date Submitted: Oct. 05, 2000 Final Rites For Louis Temple Held Sept. 16 Louis Temple, 64, resident of Winnfield, died September 15, 1966 at 2 a.m. in a local hospital. Mr. Temple, an employee in the office of the Winnfield Police Department for a number of years, was a member of the First Baptist Church and of Eastern Star Masonic Lodge No. 151, the Shriners, and a Veteran of World War One. Funeral rites were conducted at Hixson Brothers Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, September 16, with Dr. W. L. Holcomb and Rev. J. W. Buckner officiating. Interment was in Garden of Memories Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Temple; one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Burkhart, of Winnfield; one son, Louis Temple, Jr., of Crossett, Ark.; two brothers, Dewey Temple and Forrest Temple, of Winnfield; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Active pallbearers were Gerald Robbins, Percy Roberts, Jr., Dr. Ray Jenkins, C. C. Carter, G. C. Bates, Clifford Bartley, Sanford Jordan, and Ranel Brady. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Sheriff's Office and City Police department.
