D. Temple Held February 16 William David "Bill" Temple died in a Winnfield hospital on Feb. 13, 1964 after a brief illness. "Mr. Bill" was well known in this area, having been a businessman for 40 years, operating a caf‚ and grocery store in Dodson, then later working as sales clerk at Milam's Department Store in Winnfield. "Mr. Bill" was loved by young and old alike and leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held on Sunday, Feb. 16 at Dodson Baptist Church with the Rev. C. S. Cadwallader, pastor of the church, and the Rev. George Foster, a former pastor, officiating. Burial was in the Gansville Cemetery. Surviving Mr. Temple are two children, Mrs. Fay Thornton of Winnfield and Mr. Harold Temple of Baytown, Texas; five grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. E. J. Hogan of Dodson and Mrs. Earnest Gentry of Monroe; two brothers, B. F. Temple of Dodson and George Temple of Monroe. Acting pallbearers were Norman Broomfield, Reuben Simpkins, J. K. Lee, Jimmie Jenkins, Onie Hay, and Harley Womack. Honorary pallbearers were G. H. Biggs, Wycliff Gates, Troy Lee Kelley, Henry A. Kornegay, Judson Campbell, and Paul Vayne Gaar.
