All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: February 11, 1954, Winn Parish Enterprise Husband Of Sikes Woman Dies In Texas Hospital Funeral services for Roy Otis Tennison, 44, partner in the Otis Crim-Tennison Funeral Home who died suddenly at Henderson, Texas Memorial Hospital, Friday afternoon at 4:30 of a heart attack, was conducted at the First Methodist Church in Henderson at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, with interment in Lakewood Memorial Cemetery. Officiating at the service was Rev. N. A. Brawner, the Rev. J. N. Phillips, and the Rev. M. B. Carroll. Members of the Masonic Blue Lodge, of which Mr. Tennison was an active member, had charge of the graveside service. Active pallbearers were Danny Roman, Emerson Wade, Ray Propes, Roy Houston, Colly Leath, Earl Young, Joe Bates, and Ave Baxter, Jr. Mr. Tennison was admitted to the hospital early Friday and before the fatal stroke later in the day appeared to be recuperated from the earlier attack. He was a native of Dallas, where he was born Oct. 23, 1909, son of the late James Edward Tennison. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Levelle Crain Tennison, formerly of Sikes; one son, Jimmy, and a daughter, Judy Ann Henderson; mother, Mrs. Mattie Tennison, Dallas; two brothers, Ray Tennison, a twin brother, Houston, and George Frederick Tennison, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. N. B. Hawkins, Houston; Mrs. W. O. Brewer, Dallas; two nieces and two nephews. Four years ago he joined Otis Crim in establishing the Otis Crim-Tennison Funeral Home.
