All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** From: July 31, 1925 Winnfield News-American Aged Resident Of Ward Seven Dies At Home Of Son Mrs. Martha Terral, 93, A Pioneer Of Winn Parish, Dies Near Dodson Mrs. Martha Terral, ninety-three years old and one of the oldest residents of ward seven died at her son, J. R. Terral's home, two miles north of Dodson, Friday evening. Mrs. Terral moved from Mississippi to Winn Parish in '59, when a great part of Winn Parish was a trackless wild with a few pioneers widely scattered through its hills. Her husband, William B. Terral died during the Civil War. She has six children, the oldest of whom, Mr. John Terral, is 75 years old. Mrs. Terral was known throughout that section of the parish and was greatly respected for her fidelity to her family and devotion to her community. Interment was held at the Transport Cemetery five miles northeast of Dodson Saturday. Rev. H. D. Rockett, pastor of the Dodson Baptist Church conducted the funeral services. Mrs. Terral is survived by two daughters: Mrs. A. B. Anders, Miss Lucy Terral; four sons, John, W. B., L. B., and J. R. Terral, all of Dodson, La.
