W. J. Thames, 62, Dies July 27 After Lengthy Illness

William Jesse Thames, 62, of Rt. 1, Dodson, died early Tuesday, July 27, 1965,
in a local hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Thames had been a Winn Parish school bus driver since 1943.

He was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church near Sikes with the Revs.
Arlie Bratton and Willie James officiating.  Burial was in Friendship Cemetery
by Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Survivors include his widow; two sons, Donald and Alvin Thames, both of West
Monroe; one daughter, Mrs. Edith Horn of Dodson; two brothers, Roy of Columbia
and Arlie of Mesquite, Texas.

Pallbearers were E. B. Culver, M. A. Green, M. G. Burnett, Clifford Bartley,
W. H. Gates, Elree Morgan.
