Thigpen Funeral Slated Friday Morning Funeral services for Willie B. Thigpen, 49, of Sikes, are to be held tomorrow (Friday) at 10:30 a.m. at the Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Thigpen, a well known Sikes resident, died at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, of a heart attack. He had been in ill health for many months. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Clovis Cole, pastor of the Friendship Church, assisted by Rev. Aubrey Boswell. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home. Mr. Thigpen was born in Sikes community in 1904 and has been a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Baptist faith. His survivors are his wife, Mrs. W. B. Thigpen of Sikes, one daughter, Mary Alice Thigpen, and one stepson, Allen Carl Brister, both of Sikes; two sisters, Lizzie Jones of Salinas, Calif., and Mrs. Ray Rhinehart of Mangham, La.; three brothers, Morris Thigpen of Salinas, Calif., Herbert Thigpen of Dallas, Tex., and James Thigpen of Forreston, Tex.; and two stepsisters, Sophie Jones and Maybelle Jones of Dallas, Texas. Active pallbearers will be Jesse Thames, Grady Burnett, Bennie Thigpen, Crafton Thigpen, Walter Gates, and Richard Griggs. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Milam, Sr., Matt Milam, Jr., Sheriff C. M. Robinson, Joe Stothart, W. Ira Gates, I. J. White, Dr. John T. Mosley, Dr. G. M. Rodgers, Dr. John R. McElwee, Charlie Crain, Morris Parker, Horace Parker, Crosby Adams, Clarence Thompson, Lehmon Sullivan, Frank Carpenter, J. Cheston Stevens, R. L. Terry, Edwin Gaar, J. K. Martin, Lee Grigsby, W. E.
