Final Rites For O. Thompson, Jr., Held August 18


O. B. Thompson, Jr., 43, of Tullos, died Thursday, August 16, in a Houston,
Texas hospital following a long illness.  He was a native of Winn Parish and
a Navy veteran of World War II.  He was employed by an aluminum plant in Lake
Charles for many years.

Last rites were conducted Saturday, August 18 at the Crossroads Baptist Church
with the Rev. Willie Broadway officiating.  Burial was in the family plot
in the Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

The deceased is survived by his widow of Maplewood, La.; one daughter, Miss
Marjorie Ann Thompson of Shreveport; one step daughter, Mrs. Benny Phelps,
of Nederland, Tex.; one brother, J. M. Thompson of Angleton, Tex.; one sister,
Mrs. Norman Thornton of Tullos; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Thompson, Sr.
of Tullos; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. W. M. Wood of Winnfield.
