Son Of Local Resident Dies In Monroe

Charles H. Thompson, 54, of Columbia, died Thursday at E. A. Conway Memorial
Hospital in Monroe after a brief illness.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Riser and Son Funeral Home in
Columbia with Brother Gary Maroney officiating.  Burial was in Columbia
Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Fay Rice of Monroe; two sons, Charles B.
Thompson and Hardy Thompson, both of Columbia; his mother, Mrs. J. B. Thompson
of Winnfield; five brothers, Oliver Thompson of Winnfield, Buel Thompson of
New Orleans, J. B. Thompson of Shreveport, Richard Thompson of Weatherford,
Texas, and Herbert Thompson of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Eloise King and Mrs.
Helen Shirley, both of Winnfield; and four grandchildren.
