She was a native of Winn Parish. Mrs. Glyn Smiley of Winnfield is among the survivors. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced at a later date. No. 2 Mrs. Thompson Dies; Rites Held At Sikes Thurs. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday for Mrs. Lela Mae Thompson, 58, of Sikes, who died at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, 1970 in a Shreveport hospital after a long illness. The Revs. Edward Smith and Willie James officiated at Sikes Baptist Church with burial in Sikes Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, C. E. Thompson of Sikes; three sons, Jimmie D. Thompson of Olla, David Thompson of Venice, and Tommie Ray Thompson of Sikes; three daughters, Mrs. Gloria Davis of Jonesboro, Mrs. Rita Smiley of Winnfield, and Mrs. Brenda Wilkerson of Vidalia; three brothers, Pierce Simons of Chatham, Norwell Simons of Sikes, and Louis Simons of Urania; three sisters, Mrs. Lura Moreland of Holly Ridge, Mrs. Ona Wise of Atlanta, and Mrs. Myrtle Holden of Dodson; and 12 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Lee Smiley, Jimmy Tucker, Doug Head, Johnny Holden, Lindell Ray Simons, and Clayton Jordan.
