Mrs. Thomas, Former Resident, Dies On Monday

Mrs. L. R. Thomas, who was a resident of Winnfield for many years, died in an
Alexandria hospital Monday afternoon, after an illness of several weeks.

A little more than three years ago, Mrs. Thomas moved to Alexandria where
she resided at 2133 Simmons Street.

She had been active in Winnfield in the missionary society of the First
Methodist Church and of the Orphanage Circle.

She is survived by her husband, Lee R. Thomas of Alexandria; three sons, Lee
R. Thomas of Crowley and H. Tris Thomas of Alexandria; a daughter, Mrs. Jessie
T. Wievel of Stevens Point, Wisc.; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending arrival of her daughter from
Wisconsin.
