H. L. Thornton, Winn Native, Dies August 12

Horace L. Thornton, 87, of Mansfield, died at a Mansfield hospital Wednesday,
August 12, 1970.

A native of Winn Parish, Mr. Thornton was a retired barber, having worked for
many years in Winnfield.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Drewett Funeral Home
with the Rev. George Harkins and Dr. George A. Richey officiating.  Burial was
in Mansfield Cemetery.

Survivors are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Eleanor T. Readdick of Brunswick,
Ga.; one son, Major Bobby L. Thornton of Altus, Okla.; one brother, Harley
J. Thornton of Blanchard; two sisters, Miss Elba Thornton of Winnfield and
Mrs. Lona C. Herring of Sikes.
