Funeral Rites For William D. Thornton Held

William Dennis Thornton, 87, died Friday, May 22, 1970, at 2:30 p.m. in
Winnfield General Hospital after a long illness.  He was a resident of Sikes
and a retired farmer.

He is survived by a brother, Bob Thornton of Sikes; and two sisters, Kate
Thornton and Mrs. Josie Rolen, both of Sikes.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Friendship Baptist Church
with Rev. C. D. Bates officiating.  Burial was to be in Friendship Cemetery.
