Thomas, 81, Resident Here 50 Years, Dies S. N. Thomas, 82, died Tuesday night at his home in Winnfield. He had been in ill health for about four years. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the First Methodist Church. Mr. Thomas, born in 1871 in Catahoula Parish, had lived in Winnfield for about 50 years. He was land agent for the L. & A. Raiway before retiring about six years ago. Last rites were conducted by Rev. P. M. Caraway, pastor of the First Baptist Church, of which he was a member. Dr. W. L. Holcomb, pastor of the First Baptist Church, assisted. Burial was in the Winnfield Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. S. N. Thomas; three daughters, Mrs. George W. Jones, Pine Bluff, Ark., Mrs. E. O. Danielson, East St. Louis, Ill., and Miss Marjorie Thomas of Winnfield; one stepdaughter, Mrs. E. D. Black, Kermit, Texas; and one stepson, Aubrey Ryals, Winnsboro; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were J. M. Hyde, P. K. Abel, George Smith, Henry Gorham, Oscar Lattier, and Dr. F. C. Wren.
