A. Thompson, 80, Dies; To Be Buried At Sharon William Andrew Thompson, 80, native of the Sikes community, died in a Winnfield hospital at 12:30 a.m. Thursday following a short illness. He was a retired farmer and timber grower and was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church. Last rites will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. J. C. Eubanks and the Rev. Ernie Yocum officiating. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery, of which the deceased was the owner, under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. The deceased is survived by his wife; two sons, Joe Thompson of West Monroe and Norman Thompson of Hodge; six daughters, Mrs. Alpha Tolbert, Mrs. Alma Tolbert, both of Sikes; Mrs. Elma McCrory and Mrs. Velma Pate, both of West Monroe; Mrs. Earlene Holley of Bastrop; Mrs. Callie Morris of Hodge; one sister, Mrs. Anna Simmons of Chatham; 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The body of the deceased will be at his home until time for the services.
